The Bar
Which soap is right for my skin type?
Each bar in the Founder's First Collection is formulated around a specific skin need, from Peony Dew's gentle, minimal formula for sensitive skin, to Dragon Series' clarifying clay for oily or congested skin. Check the Skin Type and Benefit section on each product page, or start with Golden Dome if you are not sure. It is formulated for combination skin and works well as an everyday choice.
What makes your silk different from other silk soaps?
Many soaps use the word silk only as a marketing name or fragrance note. Ours is real hydrolyzed silk protein, drawn from silk cocoons grown in Shiquan, Shaanxi, and processed by hand. It is why the lather behaves differently, turning silken and stretching slightly when wet, rather than just producing standard foam.
Is this soap scented?
No. Every bar in the collection is unscented, with only the naturally mild aroma of the botanical ingredients themselves. Nothing added.
Can I use it on my face and body?
Yes. Every bar is formulated for multi-use, covering makeup removal, face wash, body, and shave, so one bar covers your full routine.
Will each bar look identical?
Cold-process soap is living craft. Subtle variations in tone and finish are natural.

The full INCI ingredient list is on every product page, along with a plain-language explanation of what each key ingredient does.
Are your ingredients natural?
Yes. Every formula is built from natural plant oils, botanical extracts, and real hydrolyzed silk protein, with no synthetic fragrance added.
I have sensitive skin. Is this safe for me?
Peony Dew was specifically formulated as the gentlest option in the collection, just six ingredients, the shortest list of any bar, designed to minimize potential irritants. If you have known sensitivities to specific botanical ingredients, check the full INCI list on each product page before purchasing.
Do you make therapeutic claims?
No. Silk & Herb is about cleansing, comfort, and ritual. Never medical promises.
Care
How long will one bar last?
With normal daily use, a single bar typically lasts four to six weeks, depending on how often it is used and how it is stored between uses.
How should I store my bar between uses?
Keep it dry on a draining soap dish between uses. Letting it dry out fully between washes extends its life significantly and keeps the lather quality consistent.
Packaging
Is it giftable?
Intentionally so. Made to be kept, displayed, and given.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Where possible, yes. Please follow local recycling guidance for paper components.
Orders and Support
When will my order ship?
As part of the Founder's First Collection, the first 500 pieces are expected to ship within approximately 1 month. Orders placed after the initial batch will be part of future handcrafted releases and may take approximately 3 months, since each batch is made fresh rather than pulled from mass inventory.
Can I change or cancel an order?
If you contact us quickly, we will try. Once it ships, changes are limited.
Returns?
As a personal care item, opened products cannot be returned. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, we will make it right. Reach out with photos and your order number.
